In accordance with the executive order, “Realigning the United States Refugee Admissions Program,” refugee travel to the United States and all U.S. Refugee Admissions Program refugee case processing activities are suspended until further notice. This includes intake of new applications for the Welcome Corps on Campus, as well as processing of all active or previously submitted applications.

The Department of State funds a consortium of non-profit organizations with expertise in resettlement and higher education to implement the Welcome Corps on Campus, including Every Campus A Refuge, which works collaboratively with the rest off the consortium.
Welcome Corps on Campus operates under the umbrella of the Welcome Corps, the U.S. Department of State’s broader private sponsorship program for refugees admitted through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. Welcome Corps on Campus leverages the capacity of U.S. higher education institutions to serve as resettlement spaces and academic opportunities for refugee students, foster more diverse and inclusive campuses, and create a sustainable opportunity for colleges and universities to welcome refugee students on their campuses.
ECAR's Role in the Consortium
As a committed consortium member, ECAR offers extensive training and support to campus sponsor groups throughout their 12-months sponsorship journey. Our support begins with offering the application support sessions for potential campus sponsors. Our team continues its efforts for the post certification process by providing the pre-arrival training which equips campus sponsor groups with essential knowledge and resources for success. To ensure maximum level of support, ECAR creates valuable resources, such as the PSG Handbook, which outlines detailed information on the delivery of core sponsorship services. Our team also offers monthly Community of Practice sessions for sponsor groups fostering collaboration, sharing ideas, challenges and presenting possible solutions. ECAR remains dedicated to supporting campus sponsor groups at every stage, ensuring they are well-prepared to welcome refugee students and foster an inclusive and welcoming environment.
